First Monday of the month

Black Box Ink of Asbury Park Open Writers Forum

The group meets on the first Monday of each month for creative writers to connect, commiserate and strengthen each other in a workshop environment. The door is open to all aspiring writers who want to develop new work, fine tune existing work, or cultivate the courage to share. Read a bit of your short story, play, screenplay, memoir, novel, essay, poem, blog post -- any constellation of words, really -- and let us know how we can support you. Indicate whether you want general feedback, specific notes or simple encouragement, and be willing to offer constructive comments to fellow writers as well. It's a friendly atmosphere and a great way to meet other aspiring wordsmiths.

Time & Place: 7 pm at the Stephen Crane House, 508 Fourth Avenue, Asbury Park

Dates for 2012: April 2, May 7, June 4, July 2, August 6, August 27 (instead of Labor Day), October 1, November 5, December 3

ABOUT US

Black Box was founded in the year 2000 by a diverse group of area artists and residents committed to the multi-cultural revitalization of Asbury Park through the arts.

Black Box is a multi cultural arts incubator dedicated to the talented synergistic creativity between artists of all artistic genres and mediums.

Black Box supports the evolution of projects and collaborations not possible under the constraints of regular commercial theatre. We believe that the performing and visual arts provide a powerful method for bringing renewed vitality to the City of Asbury Park.
